: Hi,
: I've a Dell PowerEdge 2400 with a Tape Device (from Seagate?) called Archive Python (04106-xxx, revision 7350). I'm running on NT4 (Service pack 5) and the backup software is BackupExec.
: There is two problems I hope someone can help me with.
: 1.
: Sometimes the backup fails and I just can't eject the tape without restarting the server. This problem can be fixed by unchecking "eject when done" in the BackupExec, but there should be another way to do it?: 2.
: Serious problem!!!
: The backup fails (looking in log file you can see that there is some I/O error) very often! Putting in a new tape helps sometimes. Sometimes it happens after a few megabyte, sometime when it nearly finished.: I'had a similar machine before, PowerEdge 2300 with the same tape device and had the same problem there.
: Someone knows why the backup failes so often?
: Best regards
: Robert

Not really an answer to your question, more of a question really. Do you know the largest capacity tape you can use in these Pythons?
