I resently bought a CTD8000 Streamer (Conner
peripherial devices - now seagate). The Streamer is
recogniced by Win2k as "ARCHIVE Python 2635-XXX".

The streamer
worked fine under Win98. BUt under Windows2000 the
streamer always says, if I try to initalize a tape via
the windows exchangeable media service I get the message
"tape write protected" for any and all of my tape.
though no of my tapes has the writeprotect
switch on. Does anyone know help ?
