When reaching the second step in performing a back up the colorado T-3000 tape icon has a red circle and slash over it. This is the step where you select the backup destination. A message next to the T-3000 tape icon says the tape needs to be formatted. This has proven not to be the case. When performing a tape format the tape runs for about 7 to 8 minutes but does not format. Note the tape does initially move back and forth to find starting point of tape.
I do not know what might have caused this problem. New tapes and old tapes all come pre formatted and have worked for 2.5 years , making backups every 2 weeks.
Windows 95
Colorado Backup T-3000
Has anyone got any advice on what I could check and how to check it?
So far I have looked for loose connections, tried new tapes, uninstalled&reinstalled backup and nothing has changed.
