After attemping to find a linux driver for this tape drive, and to no results, I am selling this drive to anyone who needs it. I'd figure it's much better that just throwing it away.

The Controller has a chip with Archive 20461-003 on it and the drive itself is labeled FT-60. The controller card has the fcc-id EAX6GPSC499-R. The drive was used as routine backups from 1988 to about 1993. It was in working condition when we disconnected it. I believe that it's still in good condition, it may need cleaning. I'm supplying the controller, data cable, and the drive unit. Everything else was lost including extra tapes. If you are interested, please email be. The price is negotiable and buyer pays for S&H. Drop me a line and I'll answer any questions you have.

For those of you who has been looking for drivers, seagate does have drivers, but they don't work. Or at least I haven't been able to get them working correctly and it's only avaiable for DOS. I believe that this system is one of the QIC models. Seagate now owns the rights and has some support on it. I also read somewhere that you can even access the drive from freeBSD via wt. (I don't know what wt is. Type man wt to find out - freebsd only). For installation manuals and other information about it, I was unable to to find anything (used over 15 search engines and 25 forums).

Thanks.
