I finally downloaded a trail version of Backup Exec V4 from Afterwhich I was able to backup and restore all of my files.

In addition to that, I went back to my OEM software (Version 2.oj)and was still able to backup and restore. I am in the process of trying to find a vendor that can read from the AIWA Bolt tape drive because I have been hearing some terrible things regarding Veritas and Backup Exec. They was not very simpathetic to my situation. I hope this info helps you.

: : I did indeed removed the zip and the cdrom at one point and had only the HDD and the AIWA as masters on the respective IDE's. Same problem. Fortunately for me (I think), the new HDD is a seagate who is also the part owner of BackupExec. I am waiting to hear from them regarding a BackupExec upgrade in hope that this will cure my ailment. One thing I failed to mention earlier is that the HDD I installed is 28G and my bios would not support it so I had to use Seagates Ontrack/DiscManager DDO program to utilize the disk full capacity. In addition to that the full system save was created just before I upgraded to WIN98se. So in essence I am trying to restore files from a tape that was saved on a WIN95 platform to a WIN98 platform. I don't think that should be a problem, do you or anyone else?

: I have same problem with my AIWA Bolt external tape drive..I can do a backup but when I try to restore the files can be seen but I get an error msg (check device and connections) when I try to restore any files. Anyone with the solution please email me.
