: I have an AIWA tapedrive that is connected as a master on my secondary IDE the slave is an Iomega zip.
: The Prim. is my HDD which has just been replaced
: due to a crash and a CD-Rom on prim/slave.

: My problem is I had to remove my tape drive momentarily to reconfigure the new drive. Now it will not restore from tape. It can read the folder names
: and can restore some bmp files but that is about it. I get a message that says
: "trouble reading from storage device."

: The software is Seagate Backup Exec the pc is a Compaq 4814 w/WIN98se.

: AIWA computer division is no longer in business so I am in a jam. I would even buy another tapedrive if I can find one that can read AIWA format. I really need to get the data from the tape it is my backbone. Can anyone help

: me? :=)

: P.S. I have the same problem with all of my tapes so I'm pretty sure it's not a bad tape. I've also cleaned the tape drive as well.

Have you tried to remove the Iomega zip (the slave)? May be a CS (cable select) conflict.
