: if you have a conner qic-80 tape drive and it is hooked directly to the floppy card try uninstall windows backup and the reinstall. it works fine on my computer in win 95 but it doesn't work in win98.

When I install mine, Win98 does not detect it with the tape inserted. Once the tape is removed and restart win 98, The drive was automatically detected.
