: Hi

: I have no idea what kind of tape drive this is. It doesn't have any labeling of any kind so I do not know. I have installed this tape drive on my computer and win 98 detects it. The only problem is that there is not drive letter for my tape drive, and when i put a 4GB tape in there, my drive rejects it.

: Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.

At least i can give it a shot,
tape drives don't usually work with drive letters unless you use some special software like seagate's direct tape access.
microsoft's backup program (included in win98) will probably work fine with your tape drive.
the reason the drive rejects the tape might happen because you used a 120meter tape in it, try a 4mm 90meter dds tape (2Gig)

Greetings and success.
