More than likely the support folks can give you the registry entry that controls the timeout setting, either that or they have an ini file that sets it. Vertias Software actually handles the support and upgrades, I believe.

: My company use Seagate Backup Exec Ver.7, Archive Python 04106-xxx as backup device and the driver is 4MM Dat under Win NT 4 SP3. The backup is working fine. However, after I upgarde to SP5, I get the error message "Semaphore timeout period has expired" and the backup job failed.
: Seagate said because the storge device driver did not receive a response back from the storage device or controller within 30 seconds.
: I wonder whether Archive has a newer verison for the driver or any other suggestions. Thanks!
