Hi
I have a machine running Windows Me which a friend who is a computer technician and I built. He said the motherboard he's installed has built in sound but my Windows Me can't detect it. Here is my motherboard's info:
Motherboard: TopGun
Bios: American Megatrends
SoundPro: EnabledHe said that if I ever wanted to install a soundcard I had to disable the built in sound card in the motherboard first (soundpro). I don't have a soundcard except the one the motherboard has which I want it to work. Anyway, when I go to 'Windows System' in the control panel in the 'other devices' section there are some conflicts with CMI8330 audio adapter (it shows '(!) CMI8330 audio adapter'), I get a code 28 error when I check the properties of the adapter. I'm also running a CyrixInstead 233Mhz processor. I know that this machine has sound because once I went to a technician to get the machine upgraded and he got the sound working but ever since I formatted the machine I had lost my pc's sound. And I can't go back to the technican because I want to know how to do it for myself. Can anyone please help me to get my sound working again?
Thanks!
