Creative currently do not provide drivers for the ct5803. You most likely have an Ensonique chipset (ES1373 or similar. Windows XP native drivers are the only ones that support it so far (and probably ever will).

!!! FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS EXACTLY AS STATED !!!
-------------------------------------------------

To reinstall the Windows XP driver, go into "Device Manager" by right clicking on "My Computer" and selecting "Properties", go to "Hardware" tab then click on "Device Manager". Now open "Sound, video and game controllers". Right click on the driver you have for your sound card [probably "SB(WDM)" or "Creative Sound Blaster AudioPCI(WDM)"] and select "Update Driver...".

An "Update Driver Wizard" should appear. Where it says "What do you want the wizard to do?" select "Install from a list of specific loactions (Advanced)" then click "Next".

Now it is asking where to search fot the driver. Select where it says "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install" and click "Next".

A list of drivers should appear. In the list there should be "Creative AudioPCI (ES1371,1373)(WDM)". Select this one. Click "Next" and the driver should install.

After it is complete click "Finish". Hopefully you should have a clean sound coming through your speakers straight away without having to reboot.

I hope this has really helped.

Cheers,
