Hey, I was working on this computer, and there is a poppy distortion coming out of the speakers that mainly happens, I think, with lower end frequencies. I plugged in a set of nice headphones, and I got the same thing, so its not the speakers' problem. The people I was working for called the manufacturer and got the motherboard replaced (it was one of those all-in-one, video/sound motherboards), and the same thing happens, so I dont think it is a hardware issue. I uninstalled the drivers and let windows reinstall them, but that didn't help either.

They are running WinXP, a PCI ATI Radeon vid-card, 512M 100mhz RAM, and there is a dial-up modem plugged in that they are not using (they have DSL - plugs into USB). Im thinking I could just throw in an SBlaster Live! and bypass the motherboard sound, but would that fix it?
