Can anyone tell me why my via pci audio (built in) chipset stops playing sound as soon as I hit a key on the keyboard in some games? This problem happens to only some games (mechwarrior 4, Europe racer) but does not happen when using others (return to castle wolfenstein, and most others). I am running a PIII 800mhz pc with 750mb 133mhz ecc ram (dimms) and using an Nvidia mx400 64mb geforce2. I have heard that these chips can have a problem with audio latency that needs to be set to '0' for some sound distortion to stop happening but I have never seen or heard of the chipset going completely 'offline'. If anyone could help me that would be MUCH appreciated.
