I just upgraded my relatives Gateway to XP and faced the same problem. To fix it, I installed the Windows 2000 drivers listed on the Gateway website. This added the Settings tab back under the Device properties to allow for the Digital selection of the audio output. You can get the file here :

ftp://ftp.gateway.com/pub/hardware_support/drivers/win_98/audio/creative/7510802.exe

Hope that helps.

: I have just installed XP on a machine with a Soundblaster AudioPCI CT5803. A Windows driver successfully installs called "Creative AudioPCI (ES1371,ES1373)WDM)" with no errors. Everythin looks fine except for the fact that there is no sound. I seem to remember that when I originally bought the machine from Gateway that I had to check a switch marked Digital (or something similar) - there is no similar option via the XP driver. I guess that this is the problem, but does anybody know of a solution?

: Regards,
: Mark.
