I tried OpenSound, and didn't have any luck. (That was 3 months ago though).

I just wonder how different the 7018 is from the
7012. The kernel supports the 7018... Also, the
AC97 codec is used in EMU10K?

Easy fix, bought a cheap pci sound card to hold
me until it is made. (sbpci16)
