I've got an HP Scanjet 5p scanner. I am running Windows 2000 Pro. I went to the HP site to update my driver (I downloaded DeskScan 2.9 as the site recommended and installed it with no problems). I went on to install my SCSI card for my scanner and the 'new hardware detection' window came up. My scanner needed a file called sym53c416.

DeskScan 2.9 has a file called sym53416.
My scanner CD has a file called sym53416.
But, my scanner needs file sym53c416 (notice the 'c')

Has anyone encountered this problem? Any idea how I go about fixing it? I checked the HP site but there is no information on this. I called both the American and Canadian helplines which did me no good either.

Any ideas?
Thanks.
