Hi all,

seems that a lot of poeple have preoblems with Lynotype scanners and windows 2000/XP.

The problem seems to be the missing ASPI support within w2k [XP].

More info about ASPI can be found at: [Info + LINKS]
[Bart's page about ASPI ==> ]

[Step 1]
Install an ASPI driver [I used the LSI Logic ASPI for Win2000(formerly Symbios/NCR)](you can control it with aspichk.exe)

[Step 2]
Install the Color Factoty PRO.

Thats it :-) everything works fine ...

There are also some additional information:
[Linotype scanners are compatible with UMAX scanners]

The Highscreen [Linotype] HS5c(Windows) [Jade(Apple)] is compatible with UMAX Vista S12.

Linotype Saphir 2 -- Umax PowerLook II.

Highscreen/Linotype Scan Boostar -- Umax Astra ?1200?

The Linotype Scanners have got selected components, another firmware and a very much better Twain module (calibration) - because of that an overall higher quality.
The Umax drivers (win98/NT/w2k) working fine with the Linotype Scanners but not vice versa (firmware). The quality of the Umax Twain Module is really not the same as Linotype's.

However ... have a nice scan
