I have just upgraded from NT to XP on my desktop PC and the Scanjet 5P Symbios Logic SCSI board was replaced with the one recommended by HP at their web site. Under NT, the green SCAN button on the front of the scanner did not work. It NOW works under XP, and brings you into the XP Scanner and Camera wizard, which is the WIA software for scanning. I also downloaded and installed the Deskscan 2.9 software, but when we attempted to scan by launching it, the scan failed with a useless error message. Also, the HP scanner test failed. BUT, the Scanjet DOES work with no setup!

Can't complain, since the SCSI board replacement was only about $60 and it will allow the XP OS to run the scanner. Beats buying a new scanner.
