okay the easy fix. Find any files called usbscan and rename them from usbscan.sys to usbscan.old. Then reinstall the Twain drivers and utilities only from your software disk. Reboot and check your system properties. Under Imaging Device if there is a warning or caution sign by ScanModule V5.1 just click remove and then refresh. Your computer will ask for the Win98 disk to reload a new usbscan.sys file. Now your scanner will work. If not you might have to call the help desk for the scanner. That took me about 30 minutes on the phone mostly waiting.
