I have a Umax Astra 1200S scanner (bought in 6-6-98,) Back then,I installed it's Scsi card in the computer using Win 95. Now I have another computer using Win 98. I installed the card into this machine,I installed all the software/drivers(I thought),tried to use it in Photoshop 6.0,but kept on receiving error messages.(missing umaxis11.exe for the vmm32.vxd...among others) Uninstalled it,then re-installed it,then while it was loading files into the target directory in Presto-PageManager,it kept freezing @ 36% with the file- NSFPX.dll. Should I just throw this away, and get a cheaper USB device scanner,or can I save the couple of hundred dollars paid for this, and actually make it work? I have tried to contact Umax twice before, but without any replies. Is there a fix-patch for this or is it now trash? Thanks for any input..... Jim
Scanner firmware version V.29
Driver version VSTASCAN .dll v1.77
Device manager-Umax is11.386 v1.06
