I have Windows ME. My 4100c will copy but not scan. In the Device Manager the scanner is listed under "Imaging Device." It is working properly and has the latest drivers.

Also in the Device Manager the USB Controllers are listed and have the latest drivers.

When I select the folder Scanners & Cameras in the Control Panel and select properties for the scanner it has a troubleshooting tab. My scanner fails the troubleshooting test. On the General Tab it list "On Port: \\.\USBscan0." Also on the General Tabl it list "Status: Device Ready."

I ordered the latest software CD from HP.

Any suggestions as to how to troubleshoot this problem?
