But this is what I did to make it work and it worked too

step 1
download 310P driver for windows 2000 from following address
http://www.benq.com/drivers/imaging_drivers.html
Step 2
Install it.
Step 3
1. go to settings /control panel/Add New Hardware
2. select on "Add/ Trouble shoot device" Option
click on next
3. windows will search and will come with
avalible hardware.
4. select Add New Device
5. click next
6. select "No.I will select from the list" option
7. click on Next
8. select "Immaging Device"
9. click next
10. select "EPPSCANNER"
11. go through further instruction and install it

Try use the scanner again
