I have got a Plustek 4800P and it doesn't work in windows XP. I try using Windows NT Driver : the scanner is connected and I arrived to control the light. I FINALLY GOT MY PLUSTEK 4800P TO WORK IN WINDOWS XP. EVER SINCE THOSE LAZY PROGRAMMERS AT PLUSTEK DECIDED NOT TO MAKE ONE I FOUND OUT IF YOU CHANGE THE PARALLEL PORT CONNECTION MODE TO BPP (BIDIRECTIONAL) IT WILL WORK FINE .. JUST A BIT SLOWER. IF IT STILL DOESNT WORK ALSO TRY RUNNING THE PROGRAM USING WINDOWS 2000 COMPATIBILITY. CLICK RIGHT ON THE PROGRAM .. CLICK ON COMPATIBILITY AND SELECT WINDOWS 2000. THIS MIGHT WORK ON THE OTHER PLUSTEK SCANNERS.. IF SOMEONE TRIES IT LET ME KNOW!
