On (look for Brooke/HP6200Prob.shtml) a note on the Scanjet 6200C problems, mentions that in Win98 and Win98SE versions, if you defrag your hard drive you will the Scanjet software. Also that if you unplug it or plug in another software device, it 'breaks' the scanjet software, and this results in a "not found" error. He/she then gives a horrendous fix to it all that no Joe like me can manage to do...cripes, so this is how the "new economy" manages to survive! No wonder. I'm trying to work through email support with the HP folks...little by little I'll get my 4200 back on track but this is a headache, especially if this business about defrag. Shit.
