According to the manufacturers website this scanner will never support WinXP, but hey this scanner is 4 years old, There is an NT driver on their website (XP is based on NT) but the site says this will not work.

If you want to use the latest OS you may have to buy new hardware, try HP their support is excellent. Think of it like this you can't install the latest AMD XP processor into a 2 year old motherboard, computer technology moves very quickly, if you wish to upgrade your software your hardware will also need upgrading.

Try using Windows 2000, the driver will work on that OS (its the nearest OS to XP).
