OK.....I did some searching and found out what has happened. HP did a update for this scanner without trying it out and now has toasted the USB port on the scanner itself. It won't work on any other computer even on different OS now The scanner will work under a SCSI controler They haven't admitted the problem yet but if you go to this site and read, many of the post are on the 6300c and they are very mad about it.
