: I am unable to install my Acer Prisma 310P scanner on my new Windows 2000 system.

: Upon installing Mirascan342p, downloaded off your site, a "Scanners and Cameras Properties" box appears that says "The following scanners or cameras are installed:" with an empty box below that. I then clicked the Add button, and the Scanner and camera installation installation wizard appeared. I clicked Next and that gave me a list of manufacturers, but Acer was not among them, so I tried the Have Disk button. an "Install From Disk" box appeared and said "Insert the manufacturer's installation disk into the drive selected and click OK. I tried that, inserted the original CD that came with my scanner but then it said "The specified location does not contain information about your hardware. I tried the Browse button and directed it to the dir I unzipped Mirascan342p.zip into, but same problem occurred there. It was looking for *.inf files, but there were none there. There was an autorun.inf on the CD, but when I attempted to point it to that, but that also failed.

: I did view the contents of autorun.inf on the CD, there are 2 of them and they contained the following text:

: [autorun]
: OPEN=INST95.EXE

: [autorun]
: OPEN=Setup16.EXE

: Neither one of these files listed nor an autorun.inf exist on the latest mirascan342p software.

I have encountered the same problem as you and was wondering if you could tell me the solution that you came up with ?

Kind Regards,

Brad
