I have an HP5370C scanner attached by USB to a PIII 800 pc and it runs fine under Win98SE or Win ME. When using Windows 2000 any attempt to access the scanner by Twain from an application e.g. MS Office or Paperport results in about 15secs of disk thrashing before precisionscan 2.5 fires up and about 30secs of more disk thrashing once the scan head stops moving. This is not related to the scanned file size as it happens on very small text scans.
When I say disk thrashing I dont just mean continuous hard drive access but the drive is in real danger of damage if this were to continue.
Any help would be appreciated as this is stopping me making the final move to Windows 2000.
