I want to start out by saying that I hate Lexmark and will never buy another printer from them. But I was able to find a copy in my dllcached directory for Windows 2000 Professional. Then I renamed my current one to twain_32old.dll and moved the cached one into the WINNT directory and it worked again. No idea why, but it did. The date is 12/6/99 on the file and is approx 44 KB. Hope this helps people
: Did you ever find out the answer to this one? i'm having the same problem...
: : I just purchased a Lexmark X73 All-in-one inkjet printer. The printer portion works fine, but the scan/copy function isn't working. The error message is:
: : "c:\winnt\twain_32.dll is not a valid windows image."
: : The service tech at Lexmark says this is a MS problem.
: : Checked the MS website to see what I could find out, and discovered something interesting (maybe). The twain_32.dll on my machine is version 22.214.171.124 -- since I'm running Win200Pro, the site says that I should have version 126.96.36.199. Could this cause my problems? I have sp1/sp2 loaded. Could that have caused it? The Lexmark software includes a twain_32.dll driver. Can I just copy it over the top of the one in the winnt folder?
: : As you can tell, I'm not sure about drivers and don't want to totally crash my system.
: : Thanks for the help.
