I have recently bought the HP Draftmaster RX 7596B plotter and in order for me to get it up the stairs I had to bravely dismantle it.
I assembled it back together exactly and then fired it up, it moved a little and made a noise then it displayed ugly error message, "X axis failure" see manual. Unfortunetly I have no manual, after some investigation I found out it could be a defective motor encoder or PCA/analogue board. The only response I have from it is the pen stepper motor move about 5 steps.

: If you could offer some advice on how to get round this I will be most gratefull.

: Regards

: George
