I recently purchased and installed a Xerox M750 Inkjet Printer. I installed it via the disk that came with it and featured an executable file which I clicked on to initiate the installation process.

While the printer seems to be working well, some part of Windows 98SE seems to not be recognizing that the printer has been installed. And every time I boot up, I get a message telling me that my new M750 has been detected and asking me whether I want to install it now.

Clearly, the executable file and Xerox's instructions went around the normal Windows 98 hardware installation procedure and, as a result, I'm now stuck with the nagging and aggravating message. I wrote to Xerox's technical support department, but (I guess because Xerox is apparently on the verge of collapse) they never deigned to respond.

Will anyone who has experienced this problem or a similar one and has managed to solve it please offer any suggestions they can as to how I can go about getting things back to normal. Please email your response to me as well as posting it if you choose to.
