I finally heard back from Canon regarding this issue. Here is what they said.
If the MultiPASS is connected on a network, only the printer function
will operate. The MultiPASS Background must be turned off, and a
emulation printer driver must be
used.

The MultiPASS software will not work on a network or peer to peer.
Install another printer driver on each computer and put the MultiPASS in DOS mode.

You MAY gain PRINTING capabilities ONLY by doing this:

1. Press FUNCTION then the 0 key on the telephone keypad.
2. Press left scroll key (the number 1 on the speed dial side) until you see the words DOS PRINTING.
3. Press START/COPY. You will see the words ON/OFF in the display. 4. Press START/COPY again. This will put the machine in DOS PRINTING
mode.

While in this mode, you may be able to print from Windows. You must have a BJC-4000 set as the default driver in Windows at this time to trick
the printer. To return the machine to normal conditions, repeat the
procedure above. In step 4, you will have to press the left scroll key
before pressing START/COPY again.

This is a work around, and it is not guaranteed to work.

: I recently set up a home network and would like to share the Canon Multipass C5000 printer that is connected to one of the computers on my network. I have set up print sharing for this printer on all of the computers on my network, but am unable to print from any computer other than the one directly connected to the Multipass. I never get any error messages and it appears that my Windows application thinks it has successfully printed, but nothing ever comes out of the printer. Does anyone know what I need to do to print from a network computer? Thanks, Julie
