: : : Does anyone have a solution to the lack of a Win2000 driver for the Docuprint P12 yet please? Is it possible the driver for the P1202 might work with the P12?
: : : This printer cost me 500 pounds with its additional hardware and now it's obsolete after less than 12 months. I certainly won't be buying another Xerox product.

: : Allen- unfortunately, Xerox stubbornly refuses to support this product under Win2K. They have even turned down our (and other's) request to release enough technical data so that we can write our own driver. We also contacted Adobe to see if they would offer a new Printgear driver, but they merely pointed their finger at Xerox. Nor does Microsoft have any intention of improving the disguised HP Laserject driver it provides for the Docuprint. Our Docuprints were only two years old at the time and Xerox referred to them as "legacy" devices. Consequently, we have decided not to purchase any more Xerox printers or workcenters. At the moment, we are dealing with it by doing 600 dpi and duplex printing from dual-booted Win98-- a very unsatisfactory solution. I wish I had better news, but we went as far as possible with Xerox and they appear resolute. Good luck!

: For Win2K, you can use the HP LaserJet IID driver for the P12. This will allow you to print, but only at 600 dpi. This is the best fix that I have been able to come up with.

NEC 1260, Xerox P12 and most likely some others are based on the Adobe Printgear software. It appears to me that the one we should be pointing at is Adobe. It looks like they sold this engine to the printer makers. Adobe supports generic postscript drivers for Win2000 but I can not find a Printgear driver.
