Colour printing (photo & graphics) has always been excellent on my 895 Cxi up till my upgrade to XP on 25 October. The 'upgrade' was a clean install and is very good, so far.

Now my graphics are heavily banded laterally, almost a scored look. Photos are very poor, poorer than my old 500C.

Installing the HP 2000 driver produced no benefit, in fact my PC can't print to it from various programs (not recognised)although it will produce a test page oddly enough, showing that it can ! Is this because the Win 2000 driver is not USB capable?

I've changed the ink cartridges but exactly the same results come out.

HP suggest it might be hardware related but this I doubt, too much like coincidence. (A 'hardware' Plextor problem proved to due to a MS hotfix ).

Any ideas? I feel this ought to be a straightforward issue and I'm pretty convinced it's a driver issue.
