: I see my last message got bumped -- sorry if I offended anyone.: The jist of it was -- and quite on topic if we discuss printers here -- was the obvious planned obsolescence of the BJC-1000, and a plea for help from anyone who knows how to overcome it.
: There is no sensor on the used ink tank. It has a counter built into it that shuts the machine down after a given number of cleaning cycles regardless of the tank's actual condition. It's a lot like buying a toaster that counts the number of slices of toast it has made and will not work until you return it to the manufacturer to have the crumbs emtied -- for a fee. Cannon doesn't feel it necessary to tell their customers how to reset this function nor is it's existance mentioned anywhere in the literature provided with the machine.
: I also pointed out that Cannon would rather charge their customers $38 for a new ink cartrige than to offer affordable refill options. Affordable refill options can be found at misterinkjet.com. If you order your ink in the 4 ounce bottles, the cost of refilling your BC-05 cartrige will work out to about $1.25.
: I also think it's pretty childish to censor the truth about the lack of customer care provided by Canon on a NG encompassing printers.
: If anyone knows how to reset the "used ink tank full" counter, please let me know.

: Thank you
Did anyone answer your question here, I recently purchased the BJC 1000
