: How do I bypass win 95 control of lpt1 in order to get bi-directional control.
: My class and I are each writing a prog for controling a robot via the parallel port and there has developed a need to dynamically locate physical bus address of the port. As we are using an old borland dos "c" Compiler there doesn't seem to be a way to make it talk to windows to get the information that is needed w/ out hard wiring it into the prog. and that is not appropriate due to the fact that many different computers will be used to test the same program any input would be helpful.
: Feel free to e-Mail

Try removing lpt1 from your computer for the test (right click on My Computer, select Propities, select Device Manager, goto Ports (COM & LPT), remove the LPT1 port).

Also check to see if your printer port is set right in the CMOS.

Best of luck
