: : I want to capture a windows print-out to a file and use the built-in windows facility of defining a printer with "print-to-file". However this means that I get the pop-up screen asking me to define a file name each time.

: : Is there a method or driver which permanently places the output data in a designated file on the hard-drive?

: I am also looking for a method to do the same thing. I'm trying to print from Unix to an NT Printer to File that will print daily results to a file.

: I have played around with the built-in NT Generic/Text driver but that does not allow you to specify a file. Now I'm wondering if there's a 3rd party driver that allows you to configure it more than the Built in driver.

There is a utility called RedMon. It is for NT.
I use it to do exactly what you want it for.
It can send each print job to a seperate file on
the hard drive. It is also FREE.
Try to search the net for it or email me:
fobz at iinet dot net dot au
and I can send it to you. Cheers.
