When you reinstalled windows 2k did you do a full install or a repair? if you did a repair all it did was write over the original files just in case some of them were corrupted. you said there was also unix on the computer, if you know how to use unix you can use it to reset the Windows 2k Administrator password. But if your not too familiar with Unix or Windows 2k easyist way is to boot from the Windows 2k disk and go into setup. do not choose repair but conntinue untill you see the current partitions on the hard drive. then follow the directions to delete all partitions and then create a partition that uses all availabul space. then proceed to install windows 2k. This will remove Unix, remove the old version of windows 2k (with the password) and install a new version of win 2k without a password.
Ensure you know what hardware is on the computer in case you need to search for drivers. also make sure you have a windows 2k product key otherwise you will be unable to use windows.
