XP can grab images from most digital sources without any drivers loaded, without being patronising have you read the section in the XP help files for getting a Camera recognised?
put it this way, if you install the drivers you used for ME or 98, then plug your Camera in it probably wont work. Just for sheer devilment try uninstalling all the old drivers and turn you camera on first and then plug the USB cable in, XP will at least see the device, try looking in explorer now and see if you have suddenly acquired a drive called 'mass storage device'(it will be the last drive letter)if you have you can get your pics by browsing this drive, which will likely only have one or two folders on it with your pics in the sub folder, if so drag and drop. You wont be able to access the delete or mode functions, you will need to do that from the Camera's own menu, at least unless or until the maker of your unit produce a new driver fot you.
Hope it works for you, it does for mine which wont work if I try to install it using the CD, XP wont even see it then, it installs a 'generic' digital camera, but you cant open it or anything. Try my suggestion I'll cross my fingers for you.
