: : : Hi there, Is this a Windows file "hal.dll."? My Norton Win. Doc saya it's missing and this all came to light when I installed software for my sony dsc-75 camera and then ran a system check....Norton says sony sys. can't accsess this missing file?

: : Hello! exactly the same thing happened to me a year ago (my camera was a Sony DSC70, predecessor of yours) under exactly the same circumstances. My OS is Win 98 SE.
: : Ever since then the same error message has come up every time I've run System Check. Apart from an occasional freeze on shut-down, there seems to be no fault with the PC operation at all.
: : I rang Sony and they told me it didn't matter! It annoys me, though, and I hope somebody here can kindly explain to us why it happens! I have searched for Hal.dll on my Wondows Installation disk without success.
: : Best of luck to both of us, Meg.

Same thing is happening to me. I also own a sony digital cam. Norton picks this error up everytime I run it also. What's up with this.

IS there a FIX for this Problem?
