I am using the above for my AT&T broadband connection with
Windows 98SE. When I boot the computer I can't connect
to the internet because the network adapter listed in
the device manager is Realtek RTL 8129 PCI Fast Ethernet.
If I shut down and start again, D-link is listed. If I
use the restart mode of shutdown, Realtek remains. I have
deleted the Realtek from Settings:Network and it keeps
reappearing. In addition, if I delete it, I get a wizard
to set up new hardware for Realtek and it won't let me
use disc to install driver for D-link. I have to go to
Run and install the driver from the disc and go through
shut down and start again. Why is this happening? How
can it be fixed?
