I've successfuly installed my FA311 Network card. I've connected two Win98 PCs directly through a cross-paired cable (one laptop and one computer with Netgear FA311 card), and I want to share the CD-ROM unit from the computer with the FA311 card. The problem is: I can see both computers through the net, but when I try to access the CD (my laptop CD-Rom unit doesn't work, so I wanted to share the unit from the other computer), the computer with Netgear card reboots. I have made a connection with TCP/IP protocol (192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.2). I've tested the network card with Linux (connection between Linux and Win98) and it works very well!!! What's going wrong with Windows98??? I've bought the card two days ago, and I'm thinking about giving it back and buying another one!!!
Thanks in advance.
