: I need an old DOS version of the driver for a DECchip 21140 NIC. This form of the driver should be available in a LanMan version of the driver files. I need it for the protocol.ini file on a bootable floppy used to load ghost images over an NT network.

Hi there

I have the same situation with a couple of PC's equipped with a Lantronix-NIC and a 21140 DECchip on it.
I also use Ghost Multicast for making images of partitions and disks for fast ecovery purposes. As you propably known that Multicast works primarly with Packet-Drivers. With a "shime"-driver (dis_pkt.dos) you "convert" from ndis-driver to a packet-driver. So you can also use directly a packet driver. I found a packet driver how really works fine with Ghost Multicast. You can include the call of the packet driver in autoexec.bat. Therefore you don't need the whole NDIS-Stuff. See my files below.

CONFIG.SYS
==========
DEVICE=\ASPI8U2.SYS /D /N04 /F11
DEVICE=\ASPICD.SYS /D:ASPICD0

DEVICE=\ANSI.SYS /X
COUNTRY=041,850,\COUNTRY.SYS
SHELL=\COMMAND.COM \ /E:512 /P /F
LASTDRIVE=K
BREAK=ON
BUFFERS=40
FILES=50

AUTOEXEC.BAT
============
@ECHO OFF

\MSCDEX.EXE /D:ASPICD0 /M:12 /L:H

\KEYB SG,437,\KEYBOARD.SYS
PROMPT $p$g
VERIFY OFF

\net\dc21140 0x66

cd \ghost
echo Loading Ghost, please wait ...
ghost.exe
