: hey guys
: i have a problem with establishing a Direct cable connection
: i use a male 2 male cable (Parallel LPT1).
: both computer use win 98.
: why is the DCC not working ???? does it need special cable ?? can we connect both computer with internal modem 2 internal modem? please help??
You need a special cable. Sometimes it is named a Laplink cable or null modem, although I read somewhere that they are not the same. I use a Laplink one. It is different than a parallel one, because some of the wires are crossed. Once you connect both sides to both computers, you can start DCC as normally.

You can build your own cable (search for Laplink cable on any search engine), but if you don't like to mess with wires and soldering stuff, I recommend you to buy one. A normal Laplink cable is not expensive, I found it for 5 USD here in Mexico. Parallel Tech sells a special high speed Laplink cable.

Hope this helps
