You're not alone! I have been trying to install a 3Com - 3C905C-TX network card in both a Dell L667r: Pentium III 667 system and an older Packard Bell Force 484 system.

I have been able to get to the point of installing the card. However, whenever I run the WINIPCFG program, I have been unable to release the IP address. The message I always get is IP adapter already released.

Anybody with any ideas how to release the address? What is wrong with the installation. I suspect it is a driver problem, but it's a mystery how to fix it.

I am attempting a similar set-up in connecting the PC's to a LINKSYS DSL / Cable router.
