if you have ISA or PCI Ehternet card you don`t need the exact driver for linux
do the following:
goto /etc/rc.d directory
and edit the file rc.modules using PICO or MC

from there you will find the line saying
NE2000 Non Pci or even ISA

remove the hash, its something like this line :
#/sbin or something i don`t remeber just remove the line to activate the searching PnP under linux
tested with Slackware All ver.

and reboot the machine ( thats it )
