Presumably you need to plug your IP addy into an internet
based game (why I don't know unless your hosting and giving
the addy to someone else to attach to) -- retrieve your online
addy by calling (in win95 / 98 ) winipcfg from the 'start' menu,
'run' option. there is a drop down that will show you all network
devices on your pc and the addresses assigned to them.

If setting up a home network, and you have another computer
that you want to attach to, use private ip addys -- more details
on that can be found all over the place under 'home network'
