: : Hey,

: : i´m running SuSE Linux 6.4 on my box with two 3c509 tp
: : ISA which have the same settings. (irq 11, i/o)
: : There´s a program for changing these settings,
: : does anyone know where, or how to solve this problem by
: : writing options in the different configfiles.

: : THX

: : Chris

: Go to www.3com.com and download file 3c509x2.exe. You'll have to make a DOS system diskette to hold the files that you extract from it. Boot from the DOS diskette and run 3C5X9CFG.exe. That will let you change the IRQ and IO settings. Also at the 3com site are instructions in the Linux driver to turn of PlugAndPray for the card.

: BTW, I can not get Suse 6.4 YaSt2 to recognize my 3c509b ISA card. But if I use the following commands I can get it to work -

: insmod /lib/modules/2.2.14/net/3c509.o
: ifconfig eth0 192.168.0.4
: route add -net 192.168.0.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 dev eth0

: If you get Suse to recognize your card via setup let me know how you did it.
