I have tried to setup my Nokia 8210 and Nokia 7110 Fax/Modem mobile phones to try faxing out from my PC via IrDA (Infrared)

I am using WinFax Pro 10.02 on WinXP. when the PC tries to dial the fax number, the phone sounded Do-Re-Mi and the WinFax shows NO CARRIER even before the Phone dial the number. The phone could not dial the number.

Making Data connection to the ISP via both Nokia phones are ok.

I did a simple test using Hyperterminal to troubleshoot the error and found that when I enable Fax on the phone, the fax/modem on both phones could not dial up.

Both my phones supports Fax Class 1, 2 and 2.0 (I did a AT+FCLASS=? test to confirm that).

When AT+FCLASS=0 (Disable Fax),
OK - The Nokia Fax Modem successfully make a dial and connection.

But when I enable fax, the problem arise.

See below for test results:

If you know how to solve this problem, please email me at wy555@hotmail.com.

Hyperterminal test results on Nokia 8210 and 7110

0,1,2,2.0 -- Both Nokia phones supports fax

AT+FCLASS=0 -- disable fax
ATDT91234567 -- able to dial; connect ok
at+fclass=2.0 -- enable fax class 2.0
NO CARRIER -- Dial fails; phone sound "do-re-mi"
