For those with Windows XP - are you ready for the bad news.

The modem in question is a "soft modem", or in otherwords the modem is actually run by software, and the modulation / demodulation is actually done by the PC. All the board does is to transmit / recieve the modulated / demodulation signal. It does nothing with it.

The bad news is that since Windows 2000, support for these modems has been pretty much withdrawn - Microsoft has written a couple of generic drivers, but there are so many varieties that if it don't work, Tough.
